Life of a transsexual: A strong desire to be a 'woman'

He was once a national "moral model". To take care of his mother, who suffered late stage uremia, he carried her on his back to school. He suffered from transsexualism, struggling between morality and nature. He was born to be a man, but wanted to be a woman. Finally, he was determined to become a real woman through surgery.

In 2005 Liu Ting carried his mother, who suffered from uremia - urea in the blood - to school. After his story got around, he was widely praised by media. Photos:

Piles of honors made Liu hide his desire of being a "pretty girl" and pretend to be a "model boy".

Now Liu decides to be himself and lives like a woman.

Though struggling between a male body and a female soul, he still spends much of his time looking after his mother.

Liu admires these girls who are taking photos in their white dresses.

Hating his masculine characteristics Liu shaves every day before going out.

To make himself look more like a woman, Liu starts to wear a bra.
