Chinese video takes a swipe at Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘killing everyone in China’ bit

Since a suggestion that the US “kill all the people in China” to solve its debt problem made public during an American Broadcasting Company’s (ABC) talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, it sparked outrage and large-scale protests in cities like Houston and San Francisco.

On October 16 night, the Jimmy Kimmel Live show invited grade four school kids of different ethnic backgrounds form a Kid’s Table Government to talk about “state affairs.” When asked how the US could pay back the $1.3 trillion debt to China, one boy suggested building a huge wall (which Jimmy Kimmel referred to jokingly as a Great Wall) to keep all of the Chinese out of the US; another boy recommended that the US “kill everyone in China,” to which Jimmy Kimmel responded, “That’s an interesting idea!”

The ABC and Jimmy Kimmel himself later made apologies which were deemed insincere. Now a video circulated on the Chinese Internet delivered a riposte to the genocide remarks. Titled ‘Undying Chinese’, the footage briefed people on some background knowledge about China and ridiculed the talk show’s  debt repaying words.
