After Xi Jinping was unanimously elected president and chairman of the Central Military Commission of China on Saturday morning, people across the country voiced their support and aspiration for better prospects for the country.

"I am so lucky to be part of such a great age led by a great man," said Yu Zhigang, a National People's Congress deputy. "The unanimous vote showed that as our leader, Xi has our full support and trust and bears our high expectation."
Gesang Zhoigar, an NPC deputy from the Tibet autonomous region, was also deeply touched by the election. "Being one of more than 3 million people Tibet, I have strong trust in Comrade Xi, the whole Party's core, our nation's leader and the Army's commander," she said.

Xie Xingchang, a villager in Minning township in suburban Yinchuan, the capital of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and fellow villagers were relocated from mountains in southern Ningxia to their current homes, with poverty relief aid from Fujian province. Xi designated the land for their new homes when he was Fujian's deputy Party secretary.

Xie said he was extremely exhilarated to hear about Xi's election, and so were his neighbors.

Li Zhenqin, a resident of the Zhonghuazhonglu community of Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, said, "Led by President Xi, we will be more united, harmonious and stable, and our country will be stronger and prosperous."

People in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions shared their belief that President Xi will lead the country to accomplish greater development and the Chinese Dream.

"His election was supported by the people. We firmly believe President Xi will lead people of all ethnic groups in our country to make a soaring economy. We also believe Hong Kong can further integrate with the national development," said Lam Kai-fai, a member of Southern District Council in Hong Kong.
